Fleet Ops is the continuing antics and misadventures of the Star Trek Online fleet, Special Tactics.
Special Tactics (Special Tactics and Reconnaissance) is the SFV fleet in the science fiction MMO, Star Trek Online. It's a small, fairly laid back fleet for casual players of STO who still wish to participate in team content with a close knit group of skilled players. It's current holdings are Origin Station, the Mol'Rihan embassy Westwood Hall, the dilithium mining Outpost Mythic, and the ancient Victory Spire within the Solanae Dyson Sphere(...Shell...Thing).
In-Universe, Special Tactics was formed as part of the special forces initiative spearheaded by Admirals D'Vak and Quinn to build resources and personnel whose unique skills could be devoted to protecting the Alpha Quadrant from threats such as the Borg, Undine, and Iconians. Among the other organizations born form this initiative, (such as the reinstated M.A.C.O. and the joint Starfleet/KDF service Omega Force) Special Tactics is the more unconventional, employing former mercenaries, Maquis, Pirates who have survived the Orion Syndicate purge, and representatives from the Gorn and Reman resistances. Special Tactics may be fledgeling compared to the two far larger organizations, but is no less effective.
Both in-game and in-universe, Special Tactics is allies with a fleet known as the Temporal Directive.
