LP Recommendations: June 2013

Taking a break from editing MGS (And a few other things), so I thought I'd share some stuff I've been watching while I work on it.

From now on, every once in a while I'm probably going to toss links to LP's in here that I've really enjoyed.

[HD] Interactive Let's Play Armored Core: For Answer
By Ramza411sb
Armored Core 4 was so inescapably bland it put me to sleep.  I've heard that For Answer was far better, but I've been unwilling to give it a shot.  After watching this LP however, I might rethink that.

LP: System Shock - Complete
LP: System Shock 2 - Complete

A very good LP of the System Shock games by someone who knows them quite well.

Let's Play MechCommander Gold
Let's Play MechCommander Expansion
Let's Play MechCommander 2
By Bert Bargo
A well done LP of the MechCommander series of Battle Tech games with some great running commentary.  Warning, while the commentary is very energetic and informative, this person needs some Tums.  Badly.

Let's Play Aliens Vs Predator 2
By Necroscope86
A lot of people were waiting for Aliens: Colonial Marines to come out, including me and a few friends.  And then it came out.

Aliens: Colonial Marines sucked, plain and simple.  Given the development time and the massive amount of money paid to Gearbox to develop it by SEGA, the game is embarrassingly bad, and downright offensive to fans of the film it's based off of to boot.

Aliens Vs Predator 2, on the other hand, managed to do just about everything Colonial Marines tried to do, except AVP2 did them competently, and did them ten years beforehand with far less money and less advanced graphics and computer hardware.

So check out the above playthrough, and if you like what you see, maybe try to track down a copy of AVP2.  Whether you're a fan of first-person shooters, hard science-fiction, or a fan of atmospheric horror games, you just can't go wrong with that gem.

Well, I think that's it for recommendations this month, back to work. *sigh*
