SFV-Cast 002: Ragident Rage 2 Ragelations

Show Notes:
Leonard Nimoy passes away
Died at 83 from COPD, felt his failing health was caused by old smoking habits.
Served for 2-3 years in US Army reserve special services running shows, before becoming an actor.
Became known as a rising star in westerns before being cast as Spock in "a wagon train to the stars"
TYT discussion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAKl76i9LeQ

Possibly felt the end was coming judging by final tweet.

Initially reluctant to embrace the mark left by him in world culture. The whole world seems in mourning, a testament to his impact.

FCC Reclassified internet under title 2 in party line vote.  Internet was previously title 2 before major telcoms such as Comcast lobbied congress to reclassify under title 1 early in the 2000's.

Under title 2 telcoms will be unable to seperate the internet into tiered plans similar to the cable model, or to slow down competing services.

Decision comes on the heels of the FCC redefining broadband within the US as 25 mbps, up from thr 4 mbps previously.

FCC also lifts restrictions against local competition, allowing cities to develop municipal internet and removing the stranglehold large telcoms have kept on laying and utilizing telecommunications since the 1996 telecommunications act.

Patreon snag, the EU does it's damndest to kill online digital transactions
VATMOSS forces content providers being supported by communities to provide personal information from each and every EU resident who funds them.  No matter where the person being funded is based in the world.
http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2014/12/everything-web-designers-need-to-know-about-vatmoss/

This even extends to ad space!:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/revenue-and-customs-brief-46-2014-vat-rule-change-and-the-vat-mini-one-stop-shop-additional-guidance/revenue-and-customs-brief-46-2014-vat-rule-change-and-the-vat-mini-one-stop-shop-additional-guidance

Patreon, Kickstarter, Amazon payments, just about everywhere is effected.
Either jump through the hoops, don't have a Patreon at all, or refuse all contributions from EU residents.

ONLY for digital goods and services.  Physical goods and services do not apply.

Tinfoil hat time: No sane or rational reason for this sort of insanity BUT to kill online digital services and damage new media as the old media empires crumble rapidly.  It would be very interesting to see what sort of contributions the folks in Brussels have been receiving and from whom.

Resident Evil Revelations 2:  WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED
Incredibly Botched console to PC port, must be autosaved before getting options menu.
Massive widespread slowdown issues, massive crashing issues, just setting up the game was a battle of wills.

Local co-op allegedly removed from PC version enabled by modders, despite CAPCOM's claims there wasn't time to implement it:

DRAGONBALL XENOVERSE:  WHERE DID ALL THE HOURS GO?!
Have marathoned it twice in as many days.

Character creator surprisingly robust, lots of freedom to create and develop the character you want to be. Costume customization is little dissapointing.

Combat can be spammy but feels fantastic with a couple glaring flaws, grabs and holds for example could be less weird to pull off in a pinch.  Parallel quests could be more fluidly incorporated into gameplay.  Levelling can also be a pain.

Easy-ish Dragonballs found from Preparing for the Saiyans Parallel Quest.
Namek Explosion is also perfect for gathering Dragonballs and Levelling.

Story can be hard to follow for those not familiar with Dragon Ball, but that's why there's Dragonball abridged.

Game seems to be having server difficulties, to avoid the waiting when starting play with Steam in offline mode/disconnect from PSN or X-Box live for when you're just training or playing the story.

Surprisingly good and lengthy if somewhat flawed fighting RPG, feels like a cross between Phantasy Star Online and Ehrgeiz.

I'm not kidding, EXPECT A LOT OF FOOTAGE FROM THIS GAME.  LIKE A LOT.

Definately a full playthrough coming this year.  Highly reccomended, just don't go in expecting a pure fighting game.

George R.R. Martin says Game of Thrones show is going to be different form the books from this point forward, anything goes.  Likely because the final books are taking forever.
